From Power to Practicality, Discover What Makes This Truck a Fan Favorite
1. TurboMax Engine
There are several engines to choose from for the Silverado 1500, with the standard being a high-powered TurboMax engine. The TurboMax engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission to give drivers 310 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 430 lb.-ft. of torque at 3000 rpm.
2. 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel Engine
The strongest engine choice for the Silverado 1500 is the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine. The 3.0L Duramax provides a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds, along with 305 horsepower at 3750 rpm and 495 lb.-ft. of torque at 2750 rpm. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
3. Chevy Safety Assist
The 2025 Silverado 1500 comes with Chevrolet’s comprehensive assistive-driving package, Chevy Safety Assist. Chevy Safety Assist uses the following driver-assistance functions and more to keep you safer on the road:
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- Forward Collision Alert
- Front Pedestrian Braking
- Following Distance Indicator
These functions work by using radar sensors and cameras to watch your truck’s surroundings and monitor its position on the road. When they detect a possible hazard or dangerous situation, you’ll get an audio and visual alert before Automatic Emergency Braking kicks in to prevent an accident.
4. Under-Seat Storage
A common concern with pickup trucks is that there isn’t much interior storage, but this doesn’t apply to the Silverado 1500. Trucks in the Silverado lineup come with various storage spots, including an under-seat compartment located beneath the front bench. On higher Silverado trims, there’s an up-level storage package that adds under-seat storage to the rear bench as well.
5. CornerStep Rear Bumper
One of the defining features of the Chevy Silverado lineup is the CornerStep rear bumper. The CornerStep rear bumper was designed to prevent you from falling whenever you climb into your cargo box. It has a hollow space on each corner with a textured foot pad to provide extra traction.
6. Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System
Enjoy the convenience of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto inside your new Chevy Silverado 1500. With the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, you can sync your phone to the truck to make hands-free phone calls and access some of your favorite phone apps on the 7-inch touchscreen.
7. Cruise Control
The new Silverado 1500 comes equipped with cruise control to make your longest drives easier. Cruise control maintains a driver-selected speed as you drive and automatically disengages when your traction control system needs to limit wheelspin on slippery terrains.
